Enrolling in Benefits

Employees eligible to participate in the EnerSys Benefits Program are those employees who are US residents, classified as full time, and who regularly work more than 30 hours per week.

New hires and newly eligible employees must make their benefit elections within their first 45 days of employment or eligibility. Benefits become effective the 31st day in an eligible position. If you do not make elections during your Initial Enrollment window, you will only be able to elect benefits during a future Open Enrollment unless you experience a Qualifying Life Event.

Eligible Dependents

When you enroll yourself in medical, dental, and/or vision coverage, you may also cover your eligible dependents, including:

  • Your legal spouse (or common-law spouse where recognized)
  • Your same or opposite sex domestic partner
  • Natural, step, or adopted children, up to age 26
  • Disabled dependent children of any age
  • Children of domestic partners (the domestic partner must be enrolled to cover their children)
  • Children in the process of being legally adopted, if there is a legal obligation for support
  • Children covered under a Qualified Medical Child Support Order who are under the age of 26

How to Enroll

EnerSys uses Benefitsolver to administer the enrollment process.

First-time users: Go to benefitsolver.com and select register under “I am a first-time user.” Enter your Social Security number, date of birth, and the company key enersys (case sensitive), then create your username and password and click Start Here.

Established users: Log on to benefitsolver.com with your username and password and click Start Here to begin your enrollment session.

Download the Benefitsolver MyChoice mobile app from the App Store or Google Play to enroll, make Life Event changes year round, review plan documents, upload pictures of documents, and get support.

If you have questions or would prefer to enroll by phone, the EnerSys dedicated Benefitsolver Support Center is available Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm Eastern Time at 855-849-4241.

Making Changes After Open Enrollment

Because of the favorable tax treatment, you may only change your pre-tax benefits during Open Enrollment or in the event of a Qualifying Life Event (QLE). Changes to benefit elections due to a QLE must be completed and substantiated with the Benefit Service Center within 30 days of the event — or within 60 days in the event of birth or adoption. If not completed by this deadline, changes cannot be made until the next Open Enrollment.

Dependent Verification

Proof of a dependent relationship is required to cover newly added dependents. Failure to submit the appropriate documentation by the specified deadline will disqualify your dependent(s) from coverage.

  • Legal spouse – marriage certificate
  • Common-law spouse – state-specific issued document
  • Domestic partner – notarized Domestic Partner Affidavit, proof of shared residency, and proof of financial interdependence
  • Children – birth certificate

To supply the required documentation, scan and upload it at benefitsolver.com by clicking My Tasks near the top of the page, or select your name in the top-right corner and choose Profile > Your Dependents. If you have submitted supporting documentation to Benefit Solver in the past, you will not have to resubmit it unless you receive notification that you are subject to a dependent audit.

Common Qualified Life Events Include

  • Marriage or divorce
  • Birth or adoption
  • Death of a covered dependent
  • Change in employment status
  • Gaining or losing coverage through a spouse
  • Becoming eligible for Medicare or Medicaid
