Dental

Dental coverage helps you maintain a healthy smile with preventive care, basic services, and major procedures. EnerSys dental coverage is provided through Delta Dental. Employees who enroll in the Delta Dental PPO Plan are able to visit any licensed dentist, however the benefit value will be maximized by taking advantage of Delta’s nationwide PPO network.

PPO vs. Premier Dentists: A Delta Dental Premier Dentist is a Participating Dentist but is not a Delta Dental PPO Dentist. Premier Dentists have agreed to accept payment less discounted than a PPO Dentist. To maximize your savings, always try to visit a PPO Dentist.

Finding a Dentist
Locating a Delta Dental Dentist

To find a dentist, search the Delta Dental website at deltadentalins.com. The Delta portal allows you to search by distance, specialty, language spoken, extended office hours, wheelchair accessibility and more. You can also review DentaQual scores, an objective quality metric based on actual claims data. For representative assistance, call Delta Dental at 800-932-0783.

Pre-Treatment Estimates

If you and your dentist are unsure of your benefits for a specific course of treatment, or if treatment costs are expected to exceed $300, Delta Dental recommends that you ask for a pre-treatment estimate. Ask your dentist to submit the claim form in advance of performing the proposed services. Pre-treatment estimates are not required but may be submitted for more complicated and expensive procedures such as crowns, wisdom tooth extractions, bridges, dentures or periodontal surgery. You will receive an estimate of your share of the cost and how much the plan will pay before treatment begins.

Specialists

Your dentist may refer you to a dental specialist for treatment. Be sure that the specialist you are referred to participates in the Delta network — simply ask when you make your appointment. If the specialist does not participate, you may be required to pay all treatment costs at the time of service and submit a claim to Delta Dental for reimbursement at the out-of-network rate.
